So, while its soooo cold and snowy here....
Time to be indoors and thinking happy thoughts. Its the first day of February...spring is on the distant horizon (well, it is in Stockholm anyhow) and I need a splash of colour and a fun project to brush away the winter blues. Red Roses are just the thing!
These are so fun to make. The technique is from an on-line class I found on www.craftsy.com For those of you who don't know this site, it is totally brilliant if you want to learn something new. Once you have bought the class, it stays in your little patch of cyberspace so you can watch it as many times as you like. Anyway, Vanessa Christenson's 'Sewing with Texture' is an interesting class with lots of lessons about pleating, tucking, folding and creating textured projects and I particularly liked these roses. As always, I have a stash of crimson and scarlet fabrics to hand and these flowers are surprising quick and easy. to make.
I thought it would be nice to add in a few felt leaves and this sort of limey green is definitely my colour of the moment. So got a few more to make before I have enough for my wreath... but that's ok....it may be Saturday, but the Rugby is on!!! Ruby x
